FOF history continues to be written; with every person, we meet. Why Friends of Faith, Inc. cares ... Why making an IMPACT is SO Important to us ...
Starting in April of 2012, Our Board President and Founder; Danielle trained over 90 parents, ranging from ages of 18-68, utilizing protective factors and teaching the communities she served, "how to" build strong families. It was during that time and during those trainings that Danielle began to see the importance of having a safe brave space for parents, adults, and teens (13+) to share their life experiences, learn from others, and be taught the key ingredients (resilience, social connections, concrete support in times of need, and social and emotional competence) needed to build STRONG individuals, families, and communities. Danielle learned the need and importance of building stronger people; giving people the tools needed to thrive! Stronger people build stronger families, and stronger families produce stronger, more resilient communities.
On August 10th of 2013 the seed of Friends of Faith, Inc. (FOF) was planted in the heart of Danielle, she was led to hosting a Pink, Pearls, and Blue Jeans Luncheon where she invited 6 women from different backgrounds who had survived, and bounced-back, from many of life’s risk factors (mental abuse, physical abuse, emotional abuse, health issues, poverty, teen pregnancy, family conflicts, poor parenting, low self-esteem, and much more) because of their FAITH!
During the luncheon and after much self-reflection, Danielle realized the importance of being resilient, having positive social connections, having the support in times of need, and the need for social and emotional competence; people MUST live life - thrive and not simply exist.
As a survivor of many adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), she knew the importance of healing from past hurt, rejection, violence, low self-esteem, family conflict / negative family environment, and depression. As an adult, Danielle understands the need for adults to have positive social connections as a support system in dealing with the many struggles and risk factors faced in life. As a parent, Danielle understands the need for parents to have a support system and the importance of teaching our children how to communicate socially and emotionally. As a woman and a wife; Danielle understands the importance of learning how to communicate socially and emotionally with other adults, her children, and her spouse. Friends of Faith, Inc. was established in February of 2015. Friends of Faith, Inc. is a catalyst (spark) of hope (faith) in a social decline.
